music festival anyone? [Jun. 12th, 2006|10:10 pm]
[music |Loose Fur - Hey Chicken]

I just wanted to check and see if anyone I know if planning to go to Blissfest next month. I haven't gone for a couple years, and I'm really excited that I'm going to be able to go this year.

If you don't already know about it, its a music festival in Northern Michigan the second weekend of July. There are always a lot of great acts, and its a really fun weekend of camping and drinking. If anyone is interested in going, just let me know.

I'll be leaving on Friday the 7th and coming back on Sunday the 9th.

Picnic! [May. 31st, 2006|02:14 am]
[music |Jose Gonzalez - Hints]

Tomorrow (Wednesday) there will be yet another Lunch in the Park picnic at Wilcox Park in Eastown. We usually meet at the south end of the park at 1pm. Everyone brings their own lunch and maybe a tasty beverage. For those who don't know how to get there:
- from downtown, head towards Eastown on Lake Dr., turn left on Robinson Rd. (the light just after Brandywyne and Domino's), then go a couple blocks and turn left on Norwood and we'll all be in the park on the right side.

I hope to see a bunch of you there, because a bunch of your friends will be there too.

A few things:

* My laptop is out of commission right now. Hopefully it will only be for a few days. I'm checking email sporadically.

* I have all day Wednesday off. I want to do at least a few of these things:

-bike ride
-picnic
-play music
-fix my computer
-watch Lost *this one is definitely happening*

etc....

Call me or comment if you want to join me for any of those.

Do you like fresh, organic, locally grown vegetables? [Apr. 24th, 2006|01:17 pm]
[music |Her Space Holiday - The Luxury Of Loneliness]

Trillium Organic Farm is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) organic farm in Jenison that grows a wide variety of fresh produce which is then split up among the members of the farm. I'm looking into buying a share for this summer, but a whole share is way too much food for one person. Split three ways, a share costs $128/person and for that you get a selection of fresh veggies that you can pick up once a week at the Fulton Farmer's market.

Is anyone interested in splitting a share with me? This looks to me like a great way to get a ton of fresh produce this summer at a very reasonable price.

[music |Depeche Mode - Waiting for the Night]

I really hate my computer speakers. I'm trying to listen to Depeche Mode and I have it turned up pretty loud, but I can clearly hear the following lyrics repeated over and over on WFUR, the christian radio station that the speakers pick up: "jesus will show you the way".

Someone more easily confused than myself might take this as a sign, but I know its just bad shielding in the wiring.

I'm about ready to wrap my speakers in tin foil. Maybe that would stop the signal? And, while I'm at it, I'll make myself a nice hat like this guy did:

attn: Josh or Kevin [Jan. 10th, 2006|11:26 pm]
[music |Boards of Canada]

I think there should be some sort of outdoor activity in honor of this ridiculously bad weather. Kickball or Croquet anyone? eh? eh? Kickball might be better because we would stay warmer.

cow, slaughterhouse, dream, driving, weird [Jan. 7th, 2006|02:09 pm]
I read this news story last night about the cow that escaped from a slaughterhouse and ran through traffic, dodged a train, etc... Then, this morning, I briefly woke up and then quickly fell back asleep and began to dream. In this dream I remember that I was driving somewhere, and at some point nearly hit this very cow.

It feels like the weekend.

Maybe that's because I'm sitting at work in an empty computer lab.

I wrote a long post, but then I decided that everything I said wasn't really worth saying. So I posted this instead. Happy New Years!

I missed some people tonight. Eric and Tom, we saw you leaving Emily's, but you didn't see us, Becky, I have no idea where you were. Maybe at VB? Diana, sorry I couldn't come to Bistro with you. I saw Rachel at Aziza's party. It was really great to see her after all this time. I gave her an extra hug for you.

I'm going to regret this in the morning.
